Jennifer Lopez returns today with This is Me… Now, her ninth studio album and first since 2014’s AKA. Thematically, the new LP functions as a sequel to J.Lo’s 2002 album This Is Me… Then, which yielded the smash “Jenny From the Block.”
This Is Me… Now features the singles “This Is Me… Now” and “Can’t Get Enough,” which spawned a remix featuring rapper Latto. The album is accompanied by a film, This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, which premieres today on Prime Video. The film has been called “a narrative driven, intimate, reflective, sexy, funny, fantastical musical and visual reimagining of [Lopez’s] publicly scrutinized love life.”
The album was reportedly inspired by J.Lo’s rekindled love affair with actor Ben Affleck. Hence the song “Dear Ben, Pt. II,” a sequel to 2002’s “Dear Ben.”
