Icelandic Chinese jazz-pop phenom Laufey returns today with Bewitched: The Goddess Edition, an expanded version of her acclaimed sophomore album, released last September. The new edition features four new songs, including the single “Goddess.”
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Laufey said the four new tracks represent a slight departure from the original Bewitched, which earned her a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
“I’ve definitely shown a fun, lighter side of me in past music that pokes fun at myself, a little bit sarcastic,” Laufey said. “Although some of the songs are a bit sarcastic on the deluxe, I think it’s just a continuation of the Bewitched story as I mature more as a person.”
