Singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine returns today with Older, her third studio album and first since 2022’s Five Seconds Flat. The album includes the singles “Older” and “I Guess,” both of which scaled the Genius Top Songs chart when they were released earlier this year.
While recording the album with producer Mason Stoops, McAlpine eschewed the “heavily produced” and “perfected” sound of her earlier efforts.
“We recorded most of it live, tracking the entire band at the same time in one room, me included,” McAlpine said of Older in a statement. “The passion in that space translates into the recorded music so much more than anything I’ve done before, and it has created a record that, in my opinion, is the best I’ve ever made.”
