Soft Grunge Love Rap is the 6th mixtape released by Adelaide born rapper Allday. It was released on July 21, 2015 for free download via Bandcamp.
On his tumblr, he explained the release as:
“It’s been taking so long to put out my second album because ive spent most of this year high on drugs or coming down from drugs. so instead of making people wait for the album i took a couple weeks off and made this.”
He also elaborated that “Soft Grunge Love Rap” is the genre of music he creates best, differing from Australian hip-hop (which many of his contemporaries create). The content of the songs themselves revolve around love, documenting the various stages of a relationship including breaking up, which Allday experienced between releasing his debut album and this mixtape.
