Never Land II

Andy Mineo

About “Never Land II”

Never Land II is the sequel to Andy Mineo’s 2014 EP, Never Land. This project was announced at the 2017 Friends and Family Tour. In a 2017 interview with Creative Pep Talk, Andy revealed that this project was originally going to be an EP, but when he showed it to Reach Records, they told him to make it into an album, because of “how great” the project was.

After dealing with anxiety in 2016, the project was pushed back to 2018, and then to an undisclosed date. This will be the first independent album from Andy Mineo since his 2015 album, Uncomfortable, which debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200. On Andy Mineo’s 2018 single, “You Can’t Stop Me (Remix),” Andy Mineo confirmed that Never Land II is on the way:

Never Land II on the way
I know I know that you needed more

While it seemed like Never Land II was going to be split into four EPs: The Arrow, The Sword, The Feather, and The Key, Andy Mineo announced the album on his September 2020 track “Jackson Pollock”:

Never Land II, gotta drop that soon

He also created a playlist on Spotify titled “Road to Neverland,” hinting at the new album.

On June 29, 2021, fans' hopes to finally hear the project re-ignited once more, as Andy shared more details about the studio sessions and the possible track-list for Never Land II on his Instagram profile. Fellow artist and Reach Records associate Lecrae confirmed the rumors at the end of July 2021, when he quoted the album among a series of projects the label was planning to release throughout the rest of the year.

On August 24, 2021, the album artwork and tracklist were revealed for the album and was followed by the lead single for the project, “It Could Be Worse,” releasing the next day, while the second single, “Nobody’s Coming,” was released on September 8.

However, the LP experienced two back-to-back delays at just days from its release: in fact, after the management team moved the release date from September 17 to September 24, in order to promote the song “Been About It” together with the project, clearance issues involving Lecrae’s verse on the aforementioned track forced Andy to re-tool it, as well as pushing Never Land II back to October 1.
