I Lie Here Buried With My Rings And My Dresses is Zambian-Canadian rapper Backxwash’s third studio album, which released just a little over a year after her second album God Has Nothing to Do With This Leave Him Out of It and less than a year after third EP Stigmata.
The album was announced on April 13, 2021, with the caption:
In her upcoming album I LIE HERE BURIED WITH MY RINGS AND MY DRESSES, Backxwash serves harrowing raps over industrial horrorcore beats. This audio-visual landscape of pain and despair features Backxwash as an empress of chaos on a path of self-destruction. Whereas GOD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS was a study in mercy, I LIE HERE BURIED Backxwash finds solace in being consumed by her malevolent behaviours.
The title track was released as the main single on May 7, 2021.
