Saved by the Swell

Chiddy Bang’s third album of the year already, following January’s Lunch and April’s Keep the Change, Saved by the Swell was released on September 1, 2023. It’s compiled of singles which came out one by one in the weeks leading up to the album—in fact, Chiddy dropped a song on every single Friday from April to September.

The album title and cover art are a play on the late ‘80s, early '90s sitcom Saved by the Bell. The term 'swell’ was coined by Chiddy in high school to replace the word ‘swag’. It goes all the way back to the beginnings of Chiddy Bang and is prominent in the former duo’s early discography, namely in the mixtapes The Swelly Express, Air Swell, and Peanut Butter and Swelly.
