California Tracklist
California is an EP by American DJ and record producer Diplo. He first teased the album in an interview with iHeart Radio host Nicole Mastrogiannis last year, affirming that there will be an upcoming EP featuring rappers like DRAM, Lil Yachty and Desiigner.
I’m just always working the studio. I did a lot of rap music this last year (2016 and 2017). I did a record from Lil Yachty that came out. I’m just always working on songs and there are just records that they kind of didn’t fit on their album, so [I] just had to put them out myself.
This EP was originally scheduled to be released September 2017, but it was pushed back and the reason for this is still unclear.

What have the artist said about the album?
Diplo:
When I made the Florida album over ten years ago, it was me dwelling in my own mind and creating something crazy that was about where I’m from and what I imagined.
Once I got to California, I had been working for years in all kinds of music, but this last year I was inspired by all the young sounds and rappers that have moved to LA. Felt like this album was the soundtrack to the last year of working here.
