Medazzaland is Duran Duran’s ninth album. It was released on October 14, 1997.
At the time of the album’s release, Duran Duran was at a low point. Trying to recover from their immensely disliked covers album Thank You, while at the same time trying to get by with the departing of bassist John Taylor, and the ending of their EMI contract.
Due to poor reviews and sales, Medazzaland was taken off of shelves as a physical album, so it now can only be bought digitally, or through secondhand purchases.
Lead singer Simon LeBon stated that many of the songs relate to his experience with a dental painkiller, of all things.
