Featuring “Hungry Like the Wolf”, “Rio”, and “Save a Prayer”, Duran Duran’s second studio album produced many songs and music videos that defined the sound and aesthetic of the early eighties. The band began recording Rio in October of 1981 and finished during Spring 1982 in London.
The album at first did poorly in the United States due to poor marketing, but began to gain traction with the releasing of music videos that were shot with the band in tropical settings.
