Weather or Not Tracklist
Weather or Not is the third solo studio album by Evidence. Released on January 26th 2018 under Rhymesayers Entertainment, it features notable names in the rap world like Alchemist, DJ Babu, DJ Premier, Krondon, Rakaa, Slug and many more.
As Evidence said during an interview for grownuprap.com this album closes The Weatherman album series, after Cats & Dogs, The Layover EP and The Weatherman LP.
Before the release of the full album, three singles and their respective official videos were released: “Throw It All Away” on April 5th 2017, “Jim Dean” on November 17th 2017 and “10,000 Hours” on January 12th 2018.
The physical copy of the album, CD and vinyl, includes a 12-page booklet, shot by Steven Vanasco, who also shot the cover and directed the videos for “Throw It All Away” and “10,000 Hours”. The video for “Jim Dean” was instead directed by Jason Goldwatch.
Evidence has always used weather as a metaphor during his rapping career, for example in the line “Some think I’m clever, others think I’m the one who makes too many references to weather… or not” from the song “Guaranteed”, out of the album The Platform, which is also the hook in “Weather or Not”, the fifth track in this album.

How did Evidence and Stephen Vanasco start working together?
Evidence talked about this during an interview for grownuprap.com:
It was fucking Instagram. I didn’t know him from shit before that. I met him one day with 13thWitness, I might’ve bumped into him earlier some places here and there, but yeah we went on a photo mission one day and hung out. Then I started noticing his work a lot more, he was shooting a lot of stuff with girls, but I noticed that he was better than the clichéd work you get on Instagram, with filters and whatever. Then I think he changed his name on Instagram from like Van Styles to his real name, lost a bunch of followers and started doing all these black & white shots, so then I was like ‘this is the sort of person I wanna fuck with’, you know what I’m saying? So then I just convinced him to do a video, like ‘can we make these stills move?’ and he said yeah, so we did and that’s basically how the collaboration happened. I love the way he shoots and why he shoots, so yeah it’s the beauty of this new era.

How did Evidence come up with the title for this album?
On a Dilated Peoples song called “Guaranteed”, Evidence has a line that goes: “Some think I’m clever, others think I’m the one who makes too many references to weather… or not”; when he would perform this song live the crowd would always say “Or not”, and he knew that line was special and that it would eventually be the name for one of his albums.
