They Got Amnesia is the fourth studio album by French Montana. It is inspired by the time when he was rushed to the hospital in November 2019 due to heart issues and nausea. A remade picture of him in the hospital is on the album’s cover art.
The album’s lead single, “FMWGAB,” was released on June 11, 2021. About four and a half months later, the second single, “I Don’t Really Care,” was released on October 29, 2021. About a week later, the third single, “Panicking,” a collaboration with Fivio Foreign, the final single of the project, was released on November 5, 2021.
The album was available for pre-order alongside the release of “I Don’t Really Care.” Montana explicitly announced its title alongside its cover art and release date on November 1, 2021. Exactly one week later, on November 8, 2021, he revealed the tracklist of the project.
On November 12, it was shown on Twitter that the album was pushed back a week. The new release date is November 19.
This album reflects my personal journey, so it’s the most special for me. God gave me another chance at life and this music healed me. I’m grateful to my collaborators and my fans for supporting me. I had to remind ‘em, 'cause you know THEY GOT AMNESIA!
