Pardon My English

George Gershwin

About “Pardon My English”

One of the Gershwins' rare commercial failures, this show had its initial run in Philadelphia in December 1932. The incomprehensible plot is about an amnesiac gentleman in a Germany that bans soft drinks to encourage sales of beer and wine, thus spawning a network of speakeasies where people can drink soda and ginger ale.
