About “Ten”

Ten is the second compilation album and the final album released by English-Irish girl band Girls Aloud, released and titled in commemoration of the group’s tenth anniversary, which features many classic UK pop tracks.

The album was officially announced in October 2012, with all five members appearing at a press conference announcing the single “Something New” to the public. It was later released in the United Kingdom on November 26, 2012, by Polydor Records. The album charted at number 9 in the UK, and is certified platinum by the BPI. The album consists of fourteen Girls Aloud’s singles, including the number-one singles “Sound of the Underground”, “I’ll Stand by You” and “The Promise” and features four brand-new tracks.

The album was praised by critics, who also credited production team Xenomania’s creativity and Girls Aloud’s strong collection of hit singles. The album featured two singles released before the album, “Something New” and “Beautiful ‘Cause You Love Me”.
