Like Drawing Blood (International Version)

This is the international version of Like Drawing Blood, the second studio album by Gotye.

Originally released in Australia in 2006, and internationally in 2008, Like Drawing Blood – just as his 2003 debut album – was recorded inside bedrooms across Melbourne in a long and laborious process between 2003 and 2005 in which Gotye collected, assembled or performed every sound on the album, as he told later in 2012:

So, I love sampling records and cassettes and collaging pieces together, and I love that searching and discovering process which actually defines a lot of the music I’ve made.

The international version of the album features a new version of “Learnalilgivinanlovin” with higher-pitched vocals in the chorus, “Coming Back” had a sample removed from its intro and bridge, and the song “A Distinctive Sound” is replaced by a new version of “The Only Thing I Know” originally released in Boardface.
