My Little Pony: Rescue at Midnight Castle

Hasbro

About “My Little Pony: Rescue at Midnight Castle”

Known simply as My Little Pony upon its initial release, My Little Pony: Rescue at Midnight Castle was the very first animated feature based on Hasbro’s My Little Pony franchise. This animated feature is also known as: Firefly’s Adventure, Dreamland, or Escape from Midnight Castle depending on the release.

It featured the very first appearance of the now well-known “My Little Pony Theme” that every subsequent theme was based on.

The story begins with the little ponies as they begin their day frolicking and having fun. Suddenly, the sky darkens and they come under attack by the draconic Stratadons and their master Scorpan. The ponies try to run, but a pink pony and Moondancer are snatched and carried off as Scorpan tells the ponies that they are doomed and they will all soon belong to Tirac the “Master of Midnight Castle”. Later, at Midnight Castle, we see Tirac turn the little ponies into his monstrous servants the Stratadons.

Firefly, in desperation, flies off to find help. She find herself in the human world where she encounters Megan. Deciding that Megan is the little ponies' salvation, she takes the young girl back to Ponyland in the hope of defeating Tirac and rescuing her captured friends.
