On March 29, Jake Miller unveil the first chapter of a new musical journey: BASED ON A TRUE STORY. The six-song EP reflects the 26-year-old’s ability to evolve and grow from his past, as Miller experiments with different sounds deriving from a newfound passion for producing. For example, he’s incorporated a live saxophone and choir on the last track, while the remaining EP beams with elements of 80s funk infused with a modern 2019 twist.

“I’m definitely pushing myself to try new things and I’m producing every beat and writing every lyric,” Jake Miller said in an interview with Forbes. “I’m just growing as a writer, producer, and songwriter every day.”

Jake Miller also said that The BASED ON TRUE STORY EP is definitely his proudest work so far as a writer and producer. In an interview with Forbes, he confessed that he was incorporated with live instruments, a live saxophone, and a live choir which makes him think that he really just made the album and EP better than the last which is his goal and Jake Miller thinks he definitely accomplished it.
