Battlefield is the second studio album by American singer Jordin Sparks, released on July 17, 2009 via Jive Records and 19 Recordings. The album debuted and peaked at number seven on the US Billboard 200, selling 48,000 copies in its first week.
“Battlefield” was released as the first single from the album, peaking at number ten on the US Billboard Hot 100, making it Sparks' third song to reach the top 10. “S.O.S. (Let the Music Play)” was released as the second single, but did not match the success of the previous single. “Don’t Let It Go to Your Head” was released as the third and final single from the album, released as a digital download on January 8, 2010 in the UK only.
This time I got to take my time, and if I recorded a song and didn’t like it, I was able to say, ‘OK, don’t like this one’ or let it grow with me a little bit. I’m excited for fans to hear my heart and hear what I’ve been thinking. ‘Cause it has been about two years (since 'Jordin Sparks’). I’ve grown up a little bit and gone through a couple of things, so I’m excited to see what people think.

With the first album, right after we got off the ‘American Idol’ tour…they were like, ‘OK, they want your music NOW and you have to record it. I literally think I recorded the album in a little over 20 days…This time I got to take my time, and if I recorded a song and didn’t like it, I was able to say, 'OK, don’t like this one’ or let it grow with me a little bit."
