Tha Carter VI is the sixth installment of Lil Wayne’s critically acclaimed album series, Tha Carter, as well as Tunechi’s upcoming fourteenth full-length studio album, following its predecessor, The Carter 5 alongside its prelude, Tha Fix Before Tha VI.

Although originally announced that Tha Carter 5 would be the final installment, the album was announced on August 7, 2022, when Tunechi uploaded a small video that the album would be on the way. That same day, at the Young Money Reunion show, he announced to his fans that the album is being worked on.

The album’s official rollout would kick off on February 22, 2023, with the release of the album’s lead single, the DMX-assisted, “Kant Nobody.” After a long wait, in September 2023, Wayne would release yet another single, “Kat Food,” before the timely reveal of the release of the album’s prelude, Tha Fix Before Tha VI.
