March

March is the third EP released by Muhsinah in 2016. It was self-released on March 25, 2016 by Muhsinah Unlimited.

Muhsinah explained to Essence that she was in a “creative rut” in 2015. When a friend told her she needed a goal with her music, Muhsinah came up with the idea to release an EP for every month in 2016.

The creative processes for the releases are based on “how the month feels and how [she wants] to feel”. Regarding March, she said:

In March the theme is all about self-empowerment and self-awareness because when I think about March, I think about literally marching for what you believe in.

The self-empowerment theme is evident in the EP’s closing track “Dope”, where she asserts she is one of a kind and has the whole package.
