Big Fat Lie is the official sophomore studio album by Nicole Scherzinger, executive-produced by The Dream & Christopher “Tricky” Stewart. The album debuted at number seventeen and spend two weeks on the top 100 UK. It includes production contributions from Felix Snow, Bart Schoudel and Chris “TEK” O'Ryan, among others, and one collaboration with American rapper T.I..
After leaving the X-Factor UK and parting ways with her long-time label, Interscope Records, Nicole signed on with Sony/RCA and moved to LA to work on the album. It spawned four singles. “Your Love” was picked as the lead single in the U.K. while “Run” served as the lead single in the US.
Despite Nicole’s efforts to promote the album, the disappointing sales of the singles resulted in RCA Records deciding to part ways with her, forcing Nicole to once again look for a new deal by the end of 2015.
I’ve just worked with The Dream and Tricky and it is cohesive, we’ve created a sound. We found a sound. We found a Nicole sound. So when you hear a couple of the songs you’ll be like, ‘Woah, that doesn’t sound like any other artist out there. Any other formula of song out there. Any other beat out there.’ I feel like it’s DNA’d to me.
