About “11:11”

11:11 is Regina Spektor’s debut album, self-released through CD Baby in 2001. It was recorded during her senior year at SUNY Purchase Music Conservatory. Stylistically, the album shows heavy influences from jazz and blues, with Regina citing artists like Billie Holiday and Joni Mitchell as inspirations. It is sparser than her later albums, (excluding 2002’s Songs) consisting mostly of piano, a plucked upright bass, simple percussion, and Spektor’s own voice.

In 2021, for the album’s 20th anniversary, Spektor announced a vinyl re-issue of the album, along with Papa’s Bootlegs, a compilation of live and unreleased material from around the time of the album’s creation.
