Sematary’s next project was first hinted at via Instagram post on 9/19/2023 announcing the release date of the original KING OF THE GRAVEYARD EP

It appeared to be a sequel to KING OF THE GRAVEYARD, however, it seems due to the negative reception the EP got, Sematary scrapped this in favor of a new sound and different direction as hinted on his tumblr.

On December 5th, 2023, Sematary previewed several new snippets showing this new sound off.

On Janurary 5th, 2024, Sematary tweeted hinting at the name of the mixtape, being [BLOODY ANGEL.]

The project’s official release date of March 29 was revealed with the release of the Headlights music video on February 22, 2024. The project’s cover art was revealed on March 3, 2024
