About “BODR”

BODR (an abbreviation for Bacc On Death Row) is the nineteenth album by Snoop Dogg which he announced via Twitter on December 31, 2021.

The album was released through Death Row Records, marking this Snoop Dogg’s third studio album released under the label in over 26 years since his sophomore studio album, Tha Doggfather. It also marks the first album to be released under Death Row in nearly 16 years, after it was shut down.

On February 9, 2022, ahead of the release of BODR, Snoop Dogg announced that he would acquire the rights to the Death Row Records trademark from MNRK Music Group (the renamed eOne Music). The sale did not immediately include rights to the label’s catalog, but it was reported that he was nearing a deal with MNRK to acquire the catalogs, which includes previous work from himself and other artists such as Dr. Dre, Tha Dogg Pound and 2Pac.

The album would contain a title track, the song “B. O. D. R.”, which was previewed by its producer DJ Battlecat with a snippet posted on his Instagram profile on January 17, 2022, but the song didn’t make the final tracklist.

It contains features from the likes of Nas, The Game, Wiz Khalifa, DaBaby, and many more, including posthumous vocals from the late Nate Dogg. Alongside, the album also contains production from the likes of DJ Green Lantern, DJ Battlecat, Hit-Boy, and more.
