“American Pastime” is the fourteenth and final Three Dog Night album. “American Pastime” was a pretty new direction for Three Dog Night in the broader scope of their discography; with an emerging disco scene at the time, the album has a clear disco influence, especially in tracks like “Everybody Is a Masterpiece” and “Drive On, Ride On”. Although, the album and its single “Everybody Is a Masterpiece” were not able to gather much commercial success. In addition, vocalist Danny Hutton was absent for all but one track, as he was fired from the band in 1975.
