Where You Live

Tracy Chapman

About “Where You Live”

Where You Live is the seventh studio album by Cleveland folk/rock/R&B singer Tracy Chapman. Continuing with the acoustic and southern-tinged production styles she picked up on her sophomore album, she also chooses a new recruit for production, Tchad Blake.

Although she isn’t a self proclaimed religious artist, Tracy picks up many new Christian undertones, especially on soulful cuts like “Change”, and “Don’t Dwell”.

The album is certified gold in the United States and reached no.43 on the Billboard top 200. It stayed there for two weeks.

The album is known as a landmark for Chapman as it helped her first become known as a Christian artist, and on here there is much more soul and self reflection in her lyricism.
