While TV Girl is well-known for its use of Golden Age-Hollywood samples in its songs, Maddie Acid’s Purple Hearts Club Band samples heavily from 80s and 90s hip-hop and gangsta rap with brief samples from 60s yé-yé and psychedelic folk artists.
