About “Street Fame”

Street Fame is Twisted Black’s third album, released through TVT Records and his own Scarred 4 Life imprint.

Originally titled Street Legends, the album is part new, part old, with four songs appearing from his first album Late Bloomer“Coldest Summer Ever,” “New Boot,” “Hustla’s Prayer” (re-titled as “Hustler’s Prayer”), “Keep It Simple”—six songs from his second album The Life of Tommy Burns“S.W.A.C.,” “The Block,” “Tell Me How You Feel” (re-titled as “How You Feel About That”), “Walk In My Shoes” (re-titled as “Walk A Mile In My Shoes”), “Skitt” (which is combined with the previous song), “The Jungle” (re-titled as “It’s A Jungle”)—and new songs specifically recorded for Street Fame.

Thematically, the album presents Twisted Black at his most invincible, with the storytelling still dominant, but the anthems having a near equal presence. Its singles are “I’m A Fool With It,” one of his most well-known songs, and “Throw It Up” featuring his then TVT labelmates Yo Gotti and Chyna White.

The album failed to make any kind of serious impact because the rapper would end up incarcerated almost two weeks prior to its release.
