About “#RIPFredo”
#RIPFredo is the 8th project released by American rapper & producer 279tyler. The mixtape was named after fallen Chicago rapper Fredo Santana as a tribute as Fredo was a huge influence in Tyler’s musical career and decision to pursue music.
The mixtape itself contains Tyler’s signature Plugg sound from the beginning of his career like the intro Calling Me, Gucci Sheets, & Citgo [
]. The EP also contained some experimental songs such as Deceased & Andre Drummond which Tyler would later expand upon the sound in his later mixtapes.
#RIPFredo also introduced Tyler’s format of naming his projects with hashtags in the title. The songs off this EP would all be deleted in late 2021. Some of the songs have been reuploaded on Soundcloud & YouTube with other songs still lost.
