About “Sunshine Factory”

Sunshine Factory is Uffie’s first album in 12 years and her follow-up to her debut album, Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans. It was released on May 20, 2022 by Company Records.

On August 30, 2021 Uffie announced she had signed to Company Records via a video on her Instagram. In the announcement, “cool' is briefly teased. The song was officially released on September 21, 2021 as the lead single, alongside the music video.

“dominoes” followed as the second single and was released on January 25, 2022. Uffie announced Sunshine Factory on her social media the same day “dominoes” was released. The pre-order for the album was also made available.

The third single, “where does the party go?”, was released March 15, 2022. A corresponding music video was released on the same day.

The fourth and final single, “sophia”, was released on April 12, 2022. A music video for the song also premiered the same day.

In an article with Alternative Press Magazine, Uffie talked about the album, stating:

I was starting to write from memories, and I wanted it to feel magical because we all needed an escape [during the pandemic]. I created this fictional space called the “Sunshine Factory” where I feel all the misfits can gather. I wanted to dive into these worlds a little more poetically, but still keep it fun.
