The soundtrack to the 2002 coming of age drama of the same name, featuring at least four different songs by Switchfoot, “Dare You To Move”, “Learning to Breathe”, “Only Hope” (which gets covered by Mandy Moore in the film), and “You”; with the bands lead singer, Jon Foreman, singing a cover of the New Radicals song “Someday We’ll Know” with Mandy Moore.
The album had such a positive impact on Switchfoot’s career that the music supervisor of the film, Jon Leshay, who was also Mandy Moore’s manager, eventually became Switchfoots' manager and got them a record deal with Columbia Records, which lasted from their fourth album, The Beautiful Letdown, to their sixth album, Oh Gravity.
