American Folk: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

This is the soundtrack album for the 2018 film “American Folk”. The film stars folk singers Joe Purdy and Amber Rubarth. They play Elliott and Joni, two strangers stranded far from their ultimate destination of NYC due to the grounding of all planes following the attacks of 9/11. The two choose to embark on a road trip in a borrowed 1972 Chevy Van. During their travels, they discover a shared love of old folk songs.

The soundtrack primarily features the duo performing together on both traditional and newly written folk songs by both Purdy and Rubarth. It also features a song each from John Prine and the duo of Jerry Garcia and David Grisman.
