At Long Last Love

This 1975 musical film was a critical and financial flop that dealt a near-fatal blow to Peter Bogdanovich’s career as a director. The filmmaker wanted to make an homage to musical films of the 1930s, but instead of trained musical performers, he cast big stars like Burt Reynolds and Cybill Shepherd (Bogdanovich’s girlfriend at the time). The movie’s reputation has not recovered in the intervening decades.
