Damsels in Distress (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Whit Stillman’s 2012 comedy is about four college students (Greta Gerwig, Carrie McLemore, Megalyn Echikunwoke, and Analeigh Tipton) who decide to improve the quality of life at their school through a rigorous program of personal hygiene and dance lessons. The soundtrack has different selections by Adam Schlesinger and Mark Suozzo, but they both reflect Stillman’s tastes for lounge jazz and the lighter end of Latin music. The album also has several songs used in the film, as well as one number performed by the cast.
