Because the 2011 comedy starring Juno Temple as a rebellious Oklahoma teenager is set in 1987, the soundtrack is full of cheesy 1980s songs, with a particular emphasis on Melissa Manchester, since she is the favorite singer of the heroine’s gay best friend (Jeremy Dozier).
