About “Juliet, Naked (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)”

This is the soundtrack to Jesse Peretz' adaptation of Nick Hornby’s novel about an English music nerd (Chris O'Dowd) who worships reclusive American 1990s indie rock star Tucker Crowe (Ethan Hawke), only to watch Tucker come out of hiding to strike up a correspondence with his girlfriend (Rose Byrne).

The album contains selections from Nathan Larson’s score as well as fictional albums alluded to in the film. Tucker’s only album was released in 1993 and called Juliet, so some of the tracks are done up in the style of the time. However, an EP of demos from that album is released by the label in the present day called Juliet, Naked, so the demo tracks are done up in an appropriately stripped-down style. The film also includes a few selections from So Where Was I?, a comeback album that Tucker is inspired to put out at the end of the film.
