This is the soundtrack album for William Friedkin’s celebrated 1973 horror film. Originally, Lalo Schifrin had written a working score for the film, but Friedkin threw the tapes into the parking lot and used contemporary classical music instead, to very good effect. Later, he said that had he known about the music of Tangerine Dream, he would have asked them to score the film.
