Pokémon 25: The Album

Pokémon 25: The Album is the upcoming compilation album to celebrate Pokémon’s 25th anniversary, released back in February 27, 1996. The compilation album features various artists, such as Post Malone, Katy Perry, J Balvin, Mabel, and many more. It was released on October 15, 2021.

Prior to the album’s release, based on the announcements, fans would be treated with both the release of a new song and merch featuring Pokémon characters and the artists involved, once the song has been officially released.

On February 27, 2021, Post Malone did a virtual live concert, performing various songs of his, including a new cover of “Only Wanna Be With You”, originally made by Hootie & The Blowfish, with additional Pokémon themes added. At the end of the concert, it was announced that a compilation album would be on the way.

On May 14, 2021, the second single to the album, “Electric”, featuring Katy Perry, was released, alongside with a music video. The track was first teased via a YouTube video after the announcement of the album.

On July 9, 2021, it was announced that the album’s third single, “Take It Home”, performed by British singer/songwriter, Mabel, would be released soon. On July 16, 2021, the song was released.

On August 6, 2021, to promote the album, Pokémon 25: The Red EP was released with two new singles from singer-songwriter Cyn and rapper Vince Staples. Two weeks after the release, another EP, titled Pokémon 25: The Blue EP, was released on August 20, 2021, to promote the album. The blue EP features three official remixes, all of which were from the Red EP and were produced by ZHU.

On September 14, 2021, the official tracklist was revealed, as well as the official release date to the compilation album.
