Show Boat (1988 Studio Cast)

John McGlinn’s studio recording of the entire score of Show Boat as it was performed when it opened in 1927. The comprehensive album also includes songs cut during the show’s tryouts (most notably “Mis'ry’s Comin' Around”), as well as songs added later for the 1936 film version and 1946 stage revival.

The studio recording features a mix of opera and Broadway stars, as well as the Ambrosian chorus and London Sinfonietta.
