This is the soundtrack for the 2015 science fiction film The Martian, about an astronaut (Matt Damon) who is stranded on Mars. The movie’s disco soundtrack comes from the character of the mission commander (Jessica Chastain), who has a weakness for the genre, and whose musical selections are the only thing the astronaut has to listen to while he’s waiting to be rescued.
