Stand by Me (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

When Rob Reiner directed his adaptation of Stephen King’s coming-of-age novel The Body, he named the film after the Ben E. King song that is on this soundtrack album along with others from the 1950s, when the story is set. A quarter-century after King’s song had charted at No. 4 on the Billboard chart, it made the chart again and peaked at No. 9 thanks to the film’s success.
