Straight Outta Compton (Music from the Motion Picture)

Released on August 14, 2015, the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton was a critical and commercial success, grossing $206.1 million worldwide and a current Rotten Tomatoes rating of 87 percent.

The soundtrack for the film features notable songs from the group including Straight Outta Compton, Fuck tha Police, Express Yourself, and solo tracks from the members like Ice Cube’s infamous diss track No Vaseline and Dr. Dre’s Nuthin' but a ‘G’ Thang. The album also features tracks from Parliament, Funkadelic, and Roy Ayers.

In addition to this album coming out, the film inspired Dr. Dre to get back into the studio to work on new music. The result was Compton, released a week before the movie was released on the 7th.
