The Air Up There

The Air Up There is a 1994 American film starring Kevin Bacon as Jimmy Dolan, an assistant basketball coach for an American college who goes to Kenya to recruit a prospect named Saleh, played by Charles Gitonga Maina. The film was a critical and commercial flop.

This album features “music from and inspired by the motion picture”. Only a few of the songs were actually in the film, with most coming from established stars across Africa, such as Baaba Maal, Angélique Kidjo, Spokes Mashiyane, and Mahlathini and the Mahotella Queens.
