The Butcher Boy: Motion Picture Soundtrack

This is the soundtrack album for Neil Jordan’s film about a 12-year-old boy (Eamonn Owens) growing up in 1960s Ireland who retreats into a violent fantasy world to escape his troubled family. Most of the score is by Elliot Goldenthal, though the album also includes songs from the era and a new song by Sinéad O'Connor, who portrays the Virgin Mary in the film.
