The Color Purple (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

This is the soundtrack to Blitz Bazawule’s film adaptation of the Broadway musical, which in turn is based on Alice Walker’s novel about Black women whose friendships and family bonds span decades. The film’s cast contains a number of actors who performed in various Broadway productions of the show.
