Lovehunter

Lovehunter is the second studio album by British band Whitesnake, released on October 1st, 1979 by United Artists Records, EMI, and Polydor. It charted at No. 29 on the UK Albums Chart.

The album cover was the subject of heavily controversial criticism incited in the UK press, despite the band being criticized for their sexual innuendo lyrics involving sexist material from the start when their first album, Trouble was released, but it ended up getting positive reviews. Coverdale admitted that using the cover art for the album was widely convinced “just to piss them off even more.” Particularly, behind the album cover was created by Chris Achilleos. However, the original artwork was stolen throughout the 80s. In Argentina, a chain-mail bikini bottom was airbrushed up the female star of its sleeve, while in the US, a sticker was applied to cover up her posterior.

The song, Long Way from Home received considerable radio airplay, reaching No. 55 in the UK Singles Chart.

In 2006, Geffen Records re-issued the album with bonus tracks taken from Andy Pebbles BBC Radio 1 outtakes with four songs originally from Trouble and Snakebite.
