Gorillas in suits definitely refers to politicians and their involvement in starting wars. The holy war can refer to Israel vs. Palestine, or just the larger “war on terror” that has made many Christians and Muslims feel like they are at war against each other when they are ultimately fighting over the “mythical truth” or something they can’t prove.

The pivotal group is the youth, because it is the youth that are sent to fight wars, mostly lower class youth that don’t have many other options. Their dead bodies are the proof that the main cause for death is going to war and killing people, not just people in the streets and drugs.

Wayne went on about his view on drugs “killing the youth” in the lengthy track; Dontgetit. He talked about how they simply aren’t, and we need to open up about other real crimes, such as rape, and murder.

Speaking of the political and religious wars could be a reference to President Richard Carter’s time in office and his policies giving rise to the Islamic Revolution, hence, all the warfare. By ending with “I am President Carter” he’s saying that this is what Richard Carter was; this is Carter’s legacy, killing the youth of tomorrow.

the holy war is referring to the book of revelations where the war between righteousness and falsehood will finally be determined. the spiritual troops are the modern day prophets who will help to awaken the masses and put an end to the lies.

In the first 8 bars of this verse, Game is essentially predicting the future, where the rapper of the moment now (presumably Jay-Z) has fallen off and has been reduced to dissing younger artists hoping their fame will rub off on him. You could argue that this transition has already started to happen, with songs like D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune) taking shots at younger talent.

I don’t think that she “loves” her reputation or that this is saying she completely consented. I think it’s more she got herself into a situation she didn’t necessarily sign up for but she didn’t know how to get out of it. The question of what could she say further implies that it was not, in fact, consensual as it shows that she didn’t have a say in the matter.

This, as with much rap at the time, has nothing to do with money. Since rap music wasn’t particularly lucrative at the time, one competed primarily for respect. The antecedent to “that”, the thing they get, is the previous line’s “top billing” rather than the money, which was secondary.
