Per Turbolader erfolgt die Aufladung eines Verbrennungsmotors. Ebenso wie ein Kompressor verdichtet der Turbolader die hereinströmende Luft und presst sie in den Ansaugtrakt. So gelangt mehr Sauerstoff in den Zylinder, wodurch sich der Wirkungsgrad des Motors verbessert – sowohl Leistung als auch Drehmoment steigen an, während Verbrauch und Emissionen sinken.
Angetrieben wird ein Turbolader durch den Druck oder die Bewegungsenergie der entstehenden Abgase (daher oft auch Abgasturbolader). Im Gegensatz zum Kompressor gibt der Motor keine Leistung für die Aufladung ab. Dabei liegt der Nachteil eines Turboladers in dem sogenannten „Turboloch“, das sich in niedrigen Drehzahlbereichen bemerkbar macht. Abhilfe bietet hier die Registeraufladung von zwei parallel wirkenden Turbo-Aggregaten.

Seit Februar 2011 gilt die Tagfahrlicht-Pflicht für Neufahrzeuge in ganz Europa. Ältere Fahrzeuge sind von dieser Verordnung nicht betroffen, können aber natürlich trotzdem mit LED-Tagfahrleuchten nachgerüstet werden. Die deutschen Premiumautobauer Audi, BMW und Mercedes verbauen in ihren Autos schon länger separates Tagfahrlicht, das tagsüber permanent leuchtet und zum Schwecke besserer Sicherheit eingesetzt wird. Denn: Autos mit Tagfahrleuchten sind besser zu erkennen und wenn es nach der EU geht, soll so die Zahl der Verkehrstoten dauerhaft vermindert werden.

Subaru ist eine japanische Automobilmarke des Unternehmens Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI). Obwohl Subaru der größte Hersteller von Allradantrieb-Pkw ist, ist er im Vergleich zu vielen seiner Mitbewerber im Automobilbereich sehr klein, aber trotzdem seit Jahren hochprofitabel.
Subaru war neben Jeep und Land Rover die einzige Marke, deren Fahrzeuge in Deutschland ausschließlich mit Allradantrieb ausgeliefert wurden, bis der im Herbst 2007 eingeführte Justy diese Tradition beendete.

Spyker war ein Automobilhersteller in den Niederlanden, der 1880 als Kutschenbauer gegründet und 1926 aufgelöst wurde.
