Škoda Auto, a.s. ist ein tschechischer Automobil- und Motorenhersteller, der 1895 als Laurin & Klement gegründet wurde und damit zu den ältesten Unternehmen seiner Branche gehört. Der Maschinenbaukonzern Škoda kaufte 1925 die durch den Ersten Weltkrieg geschwächte Gesellschaft auf. Der Konzern wiederum wurde 1945 verstaatlicht.
Seit 1991 gehört das damals noch als Škoda automobilová, a.s. bezeichnete Unternehmen zur Volkswagen AG, zunächst mit einem Mehrheitsanteil, später zu 100 % der Aktienanteile.

Seat (Eigenschreibweise: SEAT) ist ein 1950 gegründetes Unternehmen zur Automobilherstellung. Es gehört heute zum deutschen Volkswagen-Konzern. Seat ist einer der größten Personenwagenhersteller in Spanien.
Am 9. Mai 1950 als Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo, S.A. („Spanische Gesellschaft für Pkw“) im Industriepark Barcelonas, der Zona Franca gegründet. Kapitalgeber der 600 Millionen Peseten waren zu 51 Prozent das staatliche Industrieinstitut Instituto Nacional de Industria, zu 42 Prozent spanische Banken und zu sieben Prozent Fiat.

Die Firma Saleen Inc. mit Sitz in Irvine, Kalifornien Vereinigte Staaten war ein Fahrzeughersteller von Sportwagen für die Straße und für die Rennstrecke. Saleen Inc. wurde 1983 von Steve Saleen gegründet. 2009 wurde Saleen insolvent und stellte sämtliche Aktivitäten ein. Die Firma war insbesondere in den Vereinigten Staaten auch bekannt für ihr Fahrzeugtuning an aktuellen wie auch vergangenen Modellen der Ford-Mustang-Reihe, welche nach Kundenwunsch modifiziert oder auch in Kleinserien gefertigt wurden.

Saab AB ist ein schwedischer Flugzeugbau- und Rüstungskonzern. Das 1937 als Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (woraus später „Saab“ als Akronym abgeleitet wurde) gegründete Unternehmen unterhielt seit 1947 eine Pkw-Sparte, welche ab 1990 als Saab Automobile AB firmierte und 2000 vollständig aus dem Konzern ausgegliedert wurde. 1968 fusionierte Saab mit dem Lkw-Hersteller Scania und firmierte bis zur Trennung dieser Fusion 1995 als Saab-Scania.
