Each one affects a certain aspect of your soul, mind, and physical body, raising your frequency into higher levels of consciousness. It is believed that you can become enlightened once the Kundalini energy rises up the spine, through the root chakra and into the top chakra (crown chakra). There is the 7 chakra and 13 chakra systems, with each chakra affecting/healing a certain aspect of our actual physical body and our light body (which transcends our existence). Certain crystals are believed to aid in the opening of chakras and shorten the meditation time needed to achieve this.
